While Felix didn't look as dominant as Bedard did yesterday he still got the job done. Turns out that his own blemish on the night was identical to that of Bedard yesterday. He gave up a 2 run HR to Adrian Gonnzalez in the 4th inning. Would have liked to see a little more out of Felix tonight but the bullpen did a good job keep the team in this game. Felix's final line on the night was 6.1 innings pitched, 7 hits, 2 earned runs, 1 walk and 5 strikeouts. Decent night from him. Green and Rhodes did a good job holding down the fort until the Mariners took the lead opening the door for JJ to enter the game in the 9th and earn back to back saves for the first time this season. JJ struck out 2 in a 1-2-3 9th inning for the save.
Not a huge night offensively as far as the score board goes. Padres pitcher Shawn Estes actually had good stuff tonight and really kept the Mariner hitters off balance. Lopez had a sac fly for a in the first inning. That was the only run for the Mariners until Lopez hit a 2 run double in the 8th inning to give the Mariners a 3-2 lead. The team will head out on a 6 game road trip. First up will be a 3 game set in Detroit against the struggling Detroit Tigers. Carlos Silva will take the mound vs Justin Verlander for the Tigers. Verlander is having a tough start to this season. He is currently 1-7 with a 6.05 ERA. Will be interesting to see what the Mariners game plan will be against him.
Alright TWO in a row. That is a winning streak folks. Let's see if they can turn it into 3 in a row.

Now I have no fear of losing track of the Mariners while I am in Europe for the next month! You will keep me on track with each game they play! I really appreciate your creative and in-depth writing about each game... thanks for the GREAT job!!
